TONY BEVILACQUA

b. 1979, Danvers, Massachusetts

Tony Bevilacqua studied painting at the Massachusetts College of Art and continues to live and paint in Boston.  He apprenticed and has worked as a specialty finishing and mural artist for many years, helping to maintain and preserve a rich regional artistic tradition.

Tony’s painting practice focuses on still lifes and landscapes, working both in the studio and en plein air throughout New England.  His landscape paintings are an attempt to capture the impression and mood of a time and place in an imperfect, wet-on-wet application of paint.  Tony’s still life paintings are an intimate study of objects and exploration of form and color. These range from quick sketches to more refined trompe l’oeil renderings.
